Re: Price List 1976

Bill, These guitars may even be a little pricey for 1976. Be aware that the guitar industry was in pretty deep trouble in the 1970's & 80's. Gibson almost went under. Hell of a time to start a guitar company in Vermont! Here's the price of a Les Paul in 1975. Taken from HarpAmps.com LES PAUL DEL...

Re: Googling for Times

I've worked to have google rank http://www.timeguitars.com #1 with a 'time guitars' search. My hope is that people will post here with their ebay, craigslist, etc items. If you find something, share it here! Other than that, you really have to spent the time & page thru google to find other link...

Re: B.B King at Hunt's

Hi SollyDad, I was wondering when this photo would show up. Thanks! It was not a dream... I remember being shocked that B.B.King sounds just like B.B.King no matter what guitar he's playing. That's either Mark or maybe Don Sydney in the background. Rob Swanson still works at the Free Press. I wonder...

Time brochure from 1985. Small Black & White

Here's the 2nd Time brochure. This lists only 3 guitar models. The GS, TC and Prime Time. This coincided with the first Guitar Player magazine ads that started running in February 1985. This was out after the portfolio pages from 1984. [Correction: The 1st Guitar player ad was in December 1984. CLC ...

Re: Purple GS on eBay

I am the one that bought the purple guitar. If there's any interest, I'll put up some photos. It's beat, part of the top corner of the headstock is missing, but what a great guitar! I waited 20+ years to be in a position to get a Time, and I'm very pleased. Although I love browns and bursts and all...

If you have a Time photo, We want to see it!

Bill, That's interesting. Maybe John could post about his bass? I found that TCB-7 picture during a extended Google session. When this site started, I was always searching for those elusive Time photos. Outside of the Early Time brochure, that is the only known photo of a Time Caster Bass! Well, I s...

Did famous guitar players really play Times that much?

Bill, It all true. The Explorer was used by Johnny Winter . He used this as a slide guitar and the action was high. He called me from Chicago while he was recording an album. This was around 1987 or so. He had several Times in the Studio and wanted me to talk to his guitar roadie about setting up th...

Re: GS-12 #106

Ero, That GS-8 sold within days! Weenote got it hours before me. Weenote invited me to see his band down in Cambridge, MA last month. I've been doing engineering work down there for Harvard and MIT since 2007. He had the original pickups put back in the it was really nice to see and hear a Time agai...

Re: GS-12 #106

Hey Daisybat! Thanks for the post. I remember this guitar because of the unique heartwood pattern on the back of the body. Beyond that, I don't remember where it went or who bought it. The headstock wood is Ebony and not Cocobolo. The #12s [i.e. Artist] model all had Ebony or were painted maple. I'm...

Re: Time Guitars Inc. 1985 - Pricelist Bottom

Darrell, This makes note of the 'NEW' artist option. Until then every 'Artist' was called a ##-12 [i.e. GS-12] The #12 models always had the #9 full switching, plus to extra goodies. By creating an Artist option, someone could get a single pickup Guitar with all the goodies. The #12 and 'Artist' goo...

Re: Time Guitars Inc. 1984 - Pricelist

Darrell, It looks like Time was very busy between 82 to 84. The new address is the Barn at 120 Kimball ave. Explorers were around before this, if you knew to ask. The Vee was Alan & I working together. The IC [Ichabod Crane] headless was introduced. The Time Caster basses were pushed by Tim Schn...

Re: Time Guitars Inc. 1982 - Pricelist

Hey Darrell,
By looking at the PO Box address and lack of the Time Casters, I assume this is when Time was moving out of your basement?

Re: Time Guitar Site... Amazing

Hey Don, Welcome aboard. I stumbled upon something about you last week and started wondering where you were! [it was Abair's myspace, then Dark River Productions Small world, or somethin'. I put this site up almost 2 years ago as a weekend geek project. People post, I remember the guitar, a person, ...
